My story
Hi there, I'm Katie! I am a big extrovert, love to laugh, and I'm always wearing a smile with a camera in my hands. Being in the background snapping photos works for me and sums up my preferred style of shooting. It's not in my nature to "direct" or tell people what to do. Don't get me wrong, I'm assertive and I do take charge- ask those close to me ;) But in general, it's not my comfort level. I also do not believe that one can create authentic moments with their families if always directed from someone else. Rather, I guide you and help you to organically create those special moments with your family, because they do happen, and I am there to capture them :)
I am based in the lovely South Bay Area, in California. I have three beautiful babies, that are not so baby anymore, and I am blessed to have married my love who I met and fell in love with back in high school! My happy place is always spending time outdoors with my family and friends, and I am truly grateful for it all.
My grandma gave me my first camera when I was 8 years old, and I have been in love with photography ever since.
I have been photographing weddings, families, little ones and maternity sessions consistently for over 15 years. I specialize in capturing emotive, story-like images of my clients and their families preferably in beautiful, sun-drenched scenery. The golden hour has always had my heart, and I've been chasing sunsets for as long as I can remember. Creating beauty in the chaos that the hour may bring with little ones running around and capturing the little in-between moments along with the big ones is what I love to do. Photographing my families and giving them memories to cherish forever is very special to me, but I equally love and cherish all the many relationships that I have formed with each and every one of my clients over these years. Relationships are important to me.
